Living in the country, internet connection battles are the bane of our everyday existence. Nevertheless, internet access is just something my son has never known life without. (Remember when our homes were first equipped with dial-up?! There was no going back to life without it!)
After yet another long phone conversation with our internet company the other day, I was informed that it would be several days before help was available. I shuddered at the thought of breaking the news to my son. His response was not what I expected…..
Me: Well bud, the internet company says we are going to have to be without internet for the whole weekend.
Son: Well, I guess we’re kickin’ it old school!

When…… When did my childhood years become synonymous with the term “old school”?!
Be right back, guys……. I’m going to go cry in my Mondo fruit squeezer over an episode of Saved by the Bell……..
What are some fun things from your childhood that would be considered “old school” today??

Oh my goodness, what wouldn’t be considered old school haha. We only had 3 tv channels, phones that were hooked to ways, maps instead of gps, and of course the biggest shocker for kids now, no interest. What? Hahaha

π That kills me!
Skipping rope, riding bikes, playing jacks. TV on for the news and Ed Sullivan, rotary dial phones (and party lines!), passing hand-written notes…

Passing notes! I remember it used to be cool to come up with different ways to fold them. I hope kids still pass notes these days!

Lol! I can relate! We live out in the country and have pretty awful Wi-Fi, so we kinda kick it old school a lot π

My kids have little concept of a cassette tape…or of why we used to call the tv remote a “clicker.” π They also crack up when I tell them of junior high expressions from my era, like “gag me with a spoon.” Ha!
